Supernova 2011dh in M-51 Animation

Paramount ME, C-14 @ f/5.5, ST-10XME, -10° & binned 3x3, clear filter, 44-60" exposures taken between 2011 JUN 04 and 2011 SEP 01. FOV of each image is ~18' x 26'. Image quality steadily declines as M-51 moved progressively lower in the sky each night. The supernova was discovered by S. Lamotte and M. Deldem in an image taken 2011 JUN 02 at 0052 UT.
